Bunion Diagnosis
A healthcare provider will generally be able to diagnose[21] a bunion by examining your foot. They will likely also ask about your personal and family medical histories, as well as any symptoms you’re experiencing. After conducting a physical exam, your healthcare provider may request an X-ray to help identify the severity of your bunion and the best course of treatment. As X-rays can take images of bone, they can be used to reveal any damage that has occurred to the MTP joint. You may also be asked to take both seated and standing X-rays in order to check the alignment of the bones in your foot.Related Conditions
